| Technology package | BANANA BIT PROPAGATION TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE |
| Summary | Bananas are normally propagated by suckers. Some farming communities in Papua New Guinea use mature or full-grown banana plants for re-planting. The disadvantage with this method is that it is very difficult to obtain a large quantity of planting material at any one time if it is desired to plant up a large area of garden. NARI’s research scientists have experimented with the banana bit technology for over five years and has released it as a well proven means for banana propagation. |
